Any trip that leads into Lesotho should start with the Sani Pass.
The pass starts fairly flat and tarred outside the small town of Himeville but as you starting climbing higher up the road becomes less graded and more interesting.
You cross the South African border post and are technically in a no-man’s land until you get to the top.
The riders on this trip were Uno, Nick, Koos and Henri on the KTM 990 Adventure, the rest of us on our BMW F800GS bikes.
There are plans to tar the pass, so try find your way up there before that happens.
